This is something I did back during the summer. I was flipping through my bird book and thought the Cooper's Hawk had some very nice coloration. So I made it into a gryphon. :D Kinda slop color job. Was really just for fun. Gaze in awe at the amazing and complex background :XD:

The background is fantastic! No way can I do something that difficult and complicated =P lol

The Cooper's gryphon is gorgeous. The coloring you did suits it quite nicely.

I can't draw gryphons and hippogriphs well enough for beans. I always seem to give them humongous feet. XD

u know.... for an animal to have two pairs of hind legs must give it hell when it wants to walk...... LOL..... anyway, great piece, i really like the colouring job and the way you drew the gryphon, very cool. I like it :thumbsup: !!!

Haha!
It doesn't look too happy, that griffon!

I love the way you incorporate feline features into your pictures.
I fact, I just commented on another picture how much I love cats, and this half-cat is no exception!

Great picture, keep it up!

Drop me a note about it!

lol No, s/he doesn't look terribly happy. Actually, it looks like you just told it breakfast was canceled. :-p Poor thing. hehehe.

I'm glad you like the feline features. most gryphons I've seen have the hindquarters of a cat, but it's usually a lion. I stuck a more house cat-type butt on my gryph. :lol: Though, I suppose it could be a small wildcat instead or something. ^_~

lmao Bow before my amazing background skillz!! :lmao:

I find bird-type things in general are very difficult to draw. I copied the head and feet almost exactly from my bird book. The wings, ear tufts, and hindquarters are my own thing. Bird feet are tough! They're all bony and scaley. :O_o:

lmao I've often wondered that myself. Must make running quite a trick. O.o;

Glad you like it! Thanks for the great input, as always! :)

I've never seen a tiger like gryphon.. but to be honest I don't look at too many gryphs... nice job, nice detail.
:iconfelineflames:
Actually, I was trying for it to look more like the local wildcat or bobcat coloration, since that's the kind of areas Cooper's hawks hang out. But a tiger would be kinda cool, actually. :D
